Study Trip to energy system facilities on São Miguel Island!
After two exciting days filled with presentations, discussions and networking take part in the Study Trip on Thursday,
16 May 2024 and visit the facilities on São Miguel Island!
We would like to thank our partner Electricidade dos Açores (EDA) for their support in realising this interesting study trip for our participants!
Program
The trip will be a whole day trip, starting at the conference hotel in the morning (08:00) and have a duration of about 12 hours. In case you schedule your return home that very day, it is recommended to book late flights (after 20:00).

- Caldeirão diesel power plant and in the battery energy storage system
- Pico Vermelho geothermal power plant
- hydro run-of-river plant
- Graminhais wind farm
- Lunch: Caldeiras & Vulcões Restaurant in Furnas
- Cozido das Furnas (boiled meal, traditional or vegan) prepared using the volcanic steam of the Furnas hotsprings

- Return: approx. 20:00 to Azoris Royal Garden – Leisure & Conference Hotel
Please note that the times are preliminary and estimates. Transportation during study trip and a traditional lunch are included.
Fees & Registration
The study trip is not included in the regular registration fee but has to be booked separately.
The price is 73.28 € excl. 16% VAT (85.00 € incl. 16% VAT)
As the number of participants for the Study Trip is limited, tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. Please note that the study trip can be canceled if less than 5 participants register.
