Study Trip 1 to Minesto – booked out/registration for study trip closed!

Right before the start of the workshop and to tune in to the specifics of the Faroes power system take part in the afternoon Study Trip 1 to Minesto in Vestmanna on Monday, 22 May 2023.

Minesto develops a revolutionary concept for generating electricity from the ocean that unlocks a so far untapped renewable energy resource. Thus, Minesto is part of one of the world’s most ambitious energy transition schemes in the Faroe Islands, where tidal energy can play an essential role in reaching 100% renewable by 2030. As the number of participants for the Study Trip is limited, tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.
Please note that the study trip can be canceled if less than 5 participants register.

Schedule:

The trip will  be a late afternoon trip, starting at the conference hotel at about 15:00 p.m. and having a duration of about 3–3.5 hours.

• Meeting time: 14:45 p.m.
• Meeting point: Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands
• Bus transport to the Vestmannasund/DGIM project site
• Exploration of the tidal kite on land including technical information
• Boat trip (please check weather conditions before, dress according to outdoor conditions)
• Return to Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands: 18:30 (approx.)

Please note that the times are preliminary and estimates. Transportation during study trip and a light refreshment (coffee/water/small snack) are included.
